Meet The Team
Sonographers
Natalie
Natalie is a senior sonographer with more than 15 years of vascular ultrasound experience in general sonography roles, as well as working for The Vascular Centre since 2013. She prides herself on being compassionate and organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently while maintaining high levels of patient care. She studied radiography at the University of Newcastle and ultrasound through the University of South Australia. Natalie’s favourite hobby is reading, but she finds that it is often interrupted while raising three children.
Tom
Tom is a senior Vascular sonographer with over 15 years’ experience in vascular ultrasound. Trained in the Royal Sussex County hospital in Brighton, UK, Tom was exposed to a wide range of vascular pathologies and vascular ultrasound examinations. Tom has been involved in the training of junior vascular sonographers and taught medical students and doctors about vascular ultrasound. Since arriving in Australia, Tom has been working in private practice for The Vascular Centre where he continues to gain knowledge and experience, helping to deliver expert vascular ultrasound examinations for Newcastle and the Hunter area.
Stuart
Stuart has been working in Vascular Sonography since 2006 and also graduated from Kings College London in 2009 with a MSc specialising in Vascular ultrasound. Stuart cut his teeth at Kings College Hospital where he was exposed to high-level patient care and became experienced in a very wide breadth of the field of non-invasive vascular imaging. Stuart has been involved with teaching and training of doctors and medical students as well as fellow sonographers. He has been working in private practice in Australia since 2012 and very much appreciates the Australian way of life.

Jo
Jo has been part of our administration team since 2011.

Lynne has been part of our administration team since 2012.

Ruth has been part of our administration team since 2017.
Dr Philip Colman
Dr Philip Colman, Senior Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon, has well-established practices based at 116 Everton Street, Hamilton and Suite 2, Level 1, 6-8 Sydney Street, Gateshead. He also consults at Cessnock, East Maitland, Nelson Bay, Toronto and Forster.
His areas of interest remain in the treatment of:
· Peripheral arterial disease (claudication, diabetic foot etc).
· Aortic and peripheral aneurysms.
· Carotid artery disease.
· Renal and mesenteric arterial disease.
with minimally invasive (endovascular) techniques.
He has had an extensive endovascular practice for many years, performed the first successful endoluminal stent grafting for ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm in the Hunter region and has a huge experience in the endovascular treatment of complex aortic aneurysms. He has taught other vascular surgeons locally, nationally and internationally these techniques. He has presented at multiple scientific meetings.
