Newcastle local vascular and endovascular surgeon, Dr Philip Colman, established The Vascular Centre in 2013.  The Vascular Centre offers a comprehensive, fully accredited and dedicated non-invasive vascular ultrasound service which includes doppler examinations of carotid/vertebral and transcranial arteries, upper and lower limb arteries and veins, renal arteries, varicose veins, DVT examinations and for abdominal aortic aneurysm. We have rooms at East Maitland, Gateshead, Hamilton, Nelson Bay and Toronto.

Dr Philip Colman, Vascular/Endovascular Surgeon, supervises and reports on all scans performed.

 

Our expert team of sonographers bring with them international training, experience and expertise. They perform investigations in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for patient well-being.

 

We pride ourselves on short waiting time, accurate scanning and timely reporting. Referring doctors will receive an interim worksheet after the scan and notification should a particularly significant finding be identified (eg acute DVT, acute arterial occlusion). A formal written report will follow shortly thereafter.

The Vascular Centre is HDAA accredited with the Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme.

 

Bulk Billing is available for pensioners, eligible concession card holders, and any others if requested by their referring physician. Veterans Affairs gold card patients are covered by The Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as any white card holders where the condition covered is relevant to the examination performed.
